With integrated whole-house audio systems becoming more popular than ever, Klipsch designed the CDT-5800-C II to meet the market's demand for a high-performance in-ceiling loudspeaker that easily challenges the inherent limitations of fixed locations.
* Horn-loaded technology increases acoustic output while significantly reducing distortion
* Controlled Directivity Technology™ directs high and midbass frequencies to the main listening area
* Treble and midbass attenuation switches
* Elegant new, low-profile slim,trim magnetic grille
Thanks to a patent-pending gimbal mechanism known as Controlled Dispersion Technology (CDT) both the high and low frequencies of the CDT-5800-C II can be directed towards the listening area. With the 100 degree, Titanium compression driver (tweeter) symmetrical Tractrix® Horn, directing sound is more accurate than a typical dome tweeter which disperses a wider breadth of sound, leading to more reflected sounds that blur sonic details. The refined, 8-inch Cerametallic™ woofer also has great positioning capabilities. It can rotate a full 360 degrees and then shift 15 degrees in any direction. This flexibility combined with the swiveling tweeter puts you in complete control of where the sound will go.
The addition of a Linear Travel Suspension to the tweeter increases high frequency detail and smoothness. Other professional grade features such as a premium network and treble and bass contour switches help the CDT-5800-C II establish a new benchmark in architectural audio excellence.
Available in a paintable white finish, the CDT-5800-C II can be paired with the Klipsch IK-800-C installation kit (sold separately). With a mud ring breakaway wire tie and color-coded brackets, it also includes perforated metal wings that easily fasten to the studs via screws staples or nails. It can also be paired with the ME-800-C fire rated speaker enclosure (sold separately) to meet local building codes and/or reduce sound transfer to adjoining rooms.
Klipsch CDT-5800-C II
UPDATED WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY
The Klipsch CDT-5800-C II maintains the core technology use of a premium 1” Titanium compression driver (tweeter) mated to an exclusive Tractrix® Horn combined with a large 8” Cerametallic™ woofer in a 2-way design. Now with a new low-profile, more elegant grill and refinements to both high frequency and low frequency reproduction, it continues as a high-performance choice for everything from 2-channel music playback to full, large room surround sound use.
THE UPDATE FOR YOUR EYES: THE NEW SLIM, TRIM GRILLE
With an all new grille, the visible frame size is reduced by 90% and grill depth is reduced by 80% over the previous design, for a more edge-to-edge consistent look that blends in with the wall more attractively. The new aluminum, paintable, magnetic grille attaches tightly and securely with ease to virtually eliminate resonant distortion.
KLIPSCH EXCLUSIVE CONTROLLED DISPERSION TECHNOLOGY™ (CDT)
Klipsch horn-loaded technology increases acoustic output while significantly reducing distortion. Proprietary Controlled Dispersion Technology allows for both the symmetrical, 100° Tractrix Horn compression driver (tweeter) and woofer to be independently aimed toward the main listening area. The tweeter swivels while the woofer rotates 360° and pivots 15° in any direction. The precisely controlled dispersion of the horn-loaded tweeter assures that high frequencies are more effectively directed towards the listening area than typical amiable, broad dispersion, standard dome tweeters. This, combined with the woofer’s ability to also direct more narrowly dispersed midbass frequencies, yields overall sound with more lifelike impact, greater detail and better vocal clarity.
TITANIUM DIAPHRAGM COMPRESSION DRIVER (TWEETER) WITH LINEAR TRAVEL SUSPENSION (LTS)
Combined with the Tractrix Horn, the one-inch, solid-formed, very lightweight metallic diaphragm works in conjunction with a precise phasing plug at the horn throat to create a highly efficient driver with excellent transient response and lack of distortion. The new Linear Travel Suspension assures the most precise diaphragm excursion, increasing high-frequency detail and smoothness.
MACHINE-SPUN CERAMETALLIC™ WOOFER
The solid Aluminum diaphragm, anodized to add stiffness and provide perfect damping, has a new hi-tech look that also delivers increased rigidity for even tighter, more defined bass. The new integrated dust cap further strengthens the cone and helps ventilate the voice coil for increased driver durability.
PREMIUM, HIGH DEFINITION NETWORK
